Livelihood Innovation Programme (LIP)

Harnessing decentralized renewable energy (DRE) to strengthen agriculture, fisheries, and micro-enterprises in Sierra Leone’s underserved communities.

About the Programme

The Livelihood Innovation Programme (LIP) is a flagship initiative of The Energy Nexus Network (TENN) focused on improving income security and economic resilience through decentralized renewable energy (DRE). By integrating energy solutions into key livelihood sectors — including agriculture, fisheries, poultry, and resilient micro-businesses — LIP empowers communities in off-grid and last-mile areas to transition from subsistence to sustainability.

Programme Mission

To improve the lives and livelihoods of rural Sierra Leoneans by using DRE as a catalyst to drive innovation, productivity, and inclusion in key economic sectors.
